My Desi Mart is being built by a team of first-generation South Asian Americans who grew up watching their parents navigate grocery stores that never quite understood them. We're building the store we always wished existed — where the produce aisle has tori and lauki next to the tomatoes, where the meat counter is 100% halal by default, and where you can grab a plate of steaming biryani on your way out.
